UQES & ELRI Policy Pitch Competition

The UQ Economics Society invites you to enter our augural ELRI Policy Pitch Competition. This competition has been generously sponsored by the Economics and Law Research Institute (ELRI), and aims to provide students with an opportunity to use economic analysis to evaluate policy and recommend reform. For more information on ELRI, check out their website:

The winner of the grand final will receive a $500 cash prize along with the opportunity to publish their reform proposal in the Journal of Creative Distractions.

To enter, simply submit a one-page brief on your proposal for economic policy reform. You will then have between five and seven minutes to pitch your proposal to the judges, then face their questions. Competitors can submit any proposal that is conductive to economic analysis, for example: deregulation and privatisation; taxation; financial market regulation; interest regulation; infrastructure policy; or evaluation of proposed government policies, such as superannuation, negative gearing and energy.

The rules can be downloaded from here.
